Digital Photography for Aquatic Scientists
Presented at the North American Benthological Society meeting
Salt Lake City, Utah, 9am - 5pm, Location TBA
This comprehensive workshop is designed for those with beginner to intermediate photographic skill. The workshop will include both classroom and field sessions designed to cover:
- The importance of photography in science, education, and outreach
- Fundamental photographic principles and techniques
- Digital equipment, techniques, and workflow
- Digital photo editing, organization, and management
- Natural history photography
- Underwater photography
- Photographic sampling and documentation in biological research
*underwater photography will be covered in the workshop, but due to limited field time we will not be doing underwater photography beyond demonstrations
To bring: Digital camera and user's manual, spare camera battery and charger (if possible), memory card(s), camera-to-computer cable, any other photo gear you'd like to work with, outdoor shoes/boots, water, sunscreen, warm clothing layers, wading gear (if desired). Please note that lunch is on your own
